Retrofit assessment

Retrofit Assessment

We will consider the property, what it is likely to benefit from and this will then be made clear with the Whole House Retrofit Assessment. This assessment looks at the condition of the home, its current efficiency, produce a ventilation strategy and advise the clients on what is likely to require actioning before any retrofit can start, based on general condition flaws that can impact the associated measures and their warranties.

Frequently Asked Questions...

The teams need a minimum amount of space to work, so installation can be done (in most cases) by moving items to the centre of the room.  They put sheets down and clean up at the end of each day for the sake of daily living whilst the installation takes place.

It depends on the measures that are undertaken and some measures will overlap each other.  However, here is a guide to the average install times:

  • Internal wall insulation (7-14 days)
  • Loft insulation (1 day)
  • Vents (1/2 day)
  • Air source (5 days)
  • Solar pv, (Roof mounted: 2-3 days, Ground mounted: 5 days)

These are an approximation but all installations vary, depending on the size of the property and the existing make up of it.

Yes, within the confines of he heat plan, to ensure the best distribution of heat within the property.  All teams will give full consideration to the requests made.

This is considered on a job by job basis, but the reality is that we encourage some clients involvement in this where it is appropriate to do so.

If the modelling of the property, post retrofit assessment shows that funding is enough to cover the works, then there is no cost to the client.  If the design is limited based on the property's current efficiency, this could lead to the need for contributions.
